International patients may engage in HealthTap's Premium services, however (currently) he or she will not be able to obtain treatment in the form of prescriptions or lab test orders through the app.
In HealthTap Prime the patient initiates a consult the same was U.S. patients do. The doctor sees a regular SOAP note, however there are two main differences:
- Prescribe Medication is now Recommend Medication because a doctor can't prescribe internationally (currently) on our platform
- The Order Lab Test option is not present, for similar reasons
In Virtual Consults with Specific Doctors/Specialists the patient initiates a consult the same way U.S. patients do (through an appointment, live consult, or message initiated at the doctor's profile page). Consults from International patients are always structured as Second Opinion consults, and so the doctor sees only a Summary Note and will only be able to provide an opinion on a prior diagnosis or treatment the patient has received.
