Yes! HealthTap doctors can order lab tests as deemed medically necessary. HealthTap has partnered with Quest Diagnostics to provide routine blood tests, Pap tests, white blood cell counts, and even gene-based and molecular testing. At this time, imaging such as x-rays or an MRI are not able to be ordered through HealthTap
The only way to request a lab test through HealthTap is through a virtual doctor visit. However, it is up to the doctor whether to order a lab test.
The Summary Note of your virtual visit will show the lab test(s) ordered by the HealthTap doctor. Once the lab test has been ordered and displayed in the Summary Note, you will have the option to schedule an appointment at a Quest Diagnostics location that’s convenient for you from the Quest website. You will likely be asked to log in or create a secure account.
All lab test information will be available in your HealthTap Visit Transcript. When the results are available, you will receive a notification in your HealthTap account as well as an email/SMS message.
