How do I allow access to the camera and microphone for my browser?

To have a virtual visit, you will need to give permission to your preferred browser to access your webcam and microphone. Below are instructions of how to enable permissions for your camera and microphone for Safari, Chrome, Firefox, and Edge. 

Safari for iOS

To allow access to your camera and microphone:

  1. Open Safari Preferences
  2. Select “Camera” & “Microphone
  3. Change access to Allow
  4. Restart Safari
  5. You’re ready to start a virtual visit!

Safari will prompt you to allow healthtap.com access to your device’s camera and microphone every time you sign in or refresh the page.

Chrome

To allow access to your camera and microphone:

  1. Select the lock icon located near the top left side of your search bar
  2. Select the drop-down menu next to camera and microphone
  3. Change the camera and microphone access to Allow
  4. Refresh the browser tab (CTRL + R)
  5. You’re ready to start your virtual visit! 

If your camera and microphone are still disabled, you may need to reset Chrome permissions.

Firefox

To allow access to your camera and microphone:

  1. Go to top left of the menu for "Preferences
  2. Type in "Camera" and "Microphone"
  3. Click on "Settings"
  4. Change the status "Allow" for HealthTap
  5. Select "Save Changes"
  6. You’re ready to start your virtual visit!

If your camera still is disabled in Firefox:

  1. Select the menu icon in the upper right corner
  2. Go to Preferences or Options
  3. Scroll down to Privacy & Security.
  4. In your Camera & Microphone settings, ensure that healthtap.com is set to Allow
  5. Restart Firefox
  6. You’re ready to start a virtual visit!

If your camera and microphone are still disabled, you may need to reset Firefox permissions.

Edge

How to enable your camera and microphone:

  1. First ensure that you’re using Edge version 79+
  2. Select the lock icon located near the left hand side of your search bar
  3. Select the drop-down menu next to camera and microphone
  4. Change the camera and microphone access to Allow
  5. Refresh the browser tab (CTRL + R)
  6. You’re ready to start your virtual visit!

If your camera and microphone are still disabled, you may need to reset Edge permissions.
